There were no
special features in the classroom. The
school does have co-taught classes and classroom aides throughout the school. They have self-contained classrooms also.

the planning or delivery of instruction, such as required curricula, pacing
plan, use of specific instructional strategies, or standardized tests.
The class
curriculum was developed by the teachers in the department. The class has an advance pacing. They have a semester worth of class in two
weeks. The class is running for six
hours a day and is five days a week for two weeks.

About
the Class You Observed
1. How much time is devoted each day to instruction
in the classroom? Describe the class periods (if applicable)? Choose a content
area of your specialty or major. How much time is devoted to teaching that
subject? The class was an economics
class and I was just in there for the afternoon. It was a three-hour session. The teacher taught multiple sections. Each section had 10 minutes of instruction
then the students did a in class activity
2. Is there any ability grouping or tracking?
If so, please describe how it affects your class.
There is no tracking done in the school.
3. Identify any textbook or instructional
program you primarily use for instruction. If a textbook, please provide the

There was no textbook use in the
class.

online resources) used for instruction in this class.

What do you know about what your students know, what can they do, and what are they learning to

I
do not know what the students know since it was my first time in the
class. Majority of the students are
middle class. There are a few upper
class and also a few lower class. Most
of the students in the class are white with a few minorities of Hispanic and
African American students.

Describe one teaching event. What best practices in teaching were used?
During a car loan activity, the teacher
used the best practice of Observations and walked around the class and answered
any questions.
